“Much Love for Tita Amor”

A Friday night bonfire gathering to embrace this fall season and the company of common ground when it comes to enjoying the great outdoors and s’mores. Then a green light to Go Green and Go White for a Spartan’s mom who is, indeed, a fighter. The peak of fall season colors frames my view up Interstate 94 to spend time and give love to Tita Amor. She made me a Filipino feast and even some leftovers for the rest of my road trip to Troy and Beverly Hills, Michigan!

These brief stops had me meeting up with more friends to connect, reflect, and celebrate life with the good and not so good happenings. For not all of the world’s challenges need to be understood- many would settle for simply navigating these twists and turns by not taking them on alone...

Then a final stretch to East Lansing- crashing with a dear friend and spending part of that Sunday morning with a fellow Spartan & Master’s swimmer- exploring the 4H Children’s Gardens on campus and then witnessing my friend’s son down a double dose of French toast- maybe to feed those tattoos on his now 26 yr. old, six-foot frame of freaky fitness...

I am grateful for all of the ‘re-connections’ made, and to be able to make them while I am able with these windows of opportunities absent of pain and yet always full of hope. Here’s to the best of conclusions of this fall season- to fill our days with more compassion & gratitude for everything and everyone under the sun.
