Yesterday was a special day indeed- and not because I took a shower and put on a suit :)
Our family foundation’s flagship contribution was a research award for my father’s alma matter, the Illinois Institute of Technology (recently rebranded Illinois Tech). From its inception back in 2015, judges from all over the country reviewed dozens of research team projects exploring ways to track digestion, prevent crime, reduce cyber bullying, and several other issues tomake the world a better place. How cool is it that we now have a straight up legit way to address cancer with a scanning technology and approach that did not previously exist?! Initially positioned as a game changer for breast cancer patients, the Adept Cancer Imaging solution could eventually become a standard in all hospitals treating cancer patients. Especially in a world where cancer only seems to be on the rise for many demographics, being part of something special to help address this life threatening disease lends itself to living a life with gratitude and purpose.
