“Back on the Core Strength Saddle w/ Swag”

It wasn’t until August that I could break free from the bed-ridden days of pain that, frankly, just sucked. I’ve learned to take things just one day at a time and listen to my body despite my aspirations of getting back into my solo exhibit work, the re-launch of my communications design niche, volunteering, and everything else that makes life an open door to walk through and have some kind of positive dent in the world. I still can’t sprint w/out triggering pain during my water-based workouts, but getting past 15k-20k yds a week is something I’ll gladly embrace and be thankful for. What better way to get back on the saddle than to do my first core strength workout of the year sporting the cancer fighter swag?! (and Bears hat of course). Although a goal I’m keeping open ended is to compete in the 2019 Masters Swimming Spring Nationals, I know that this fight that I share with so many others ‘is not a race.’ So whatever comes next, I’m in it for the long haul. A big part of that journey has everything to do with how I choose to live this day... each day. So here’s to getting stronger, living with more intention, and deep breaths to just take it all in.
